Our Little Dunedin Lizard
In Dunedin, where the sea breeze dances free,
There’s a little lizard, filled with glee.
He revels in the salty air, so pure,
A sign that warm sunshine is near, for sure.
Like the groundhog, he emerges with delight,
Announcing the arrival of spring, so bright.
In Dunedin, we watch for his playful leap,
As the sun’s warmth turns the air just right.
With nimble grace, he jumps and takes flight,
Feasting on insects, a true aerial sight.
Like picking oranges from a tree so grand,
He captures his dinner, in mid-air, with might.
As spring blossoms into a summer’s embrace,
We’ll long for the chill of past winter’s grace.
Yet, we’ll smile, knowing Florida’s winter is mild,
For our little lizard brings warmth to our space.
So, let us rejoice as the seasons unfold,
In Dunedin, where the lizard’s story is told.
His presence reminds us of nature’s rhythm,
And how swiftly our tiny winter turns to gold.
