The Legacy You Leave
Some chase shadows, day by day,
Hunting fortunes, led astray.
They climb the ladders, chase the gold,
Yet miss the treasures life can hold.
What truly matters, they don’t see,
Consumed by wealth’s false guarantee.
The light that shines for some, they miss,
Others find too late, that bliss.
In the end, what will remain?
Not the wealth, nor the gain.
Will they speak of deals you’ve won?
Or of the love you failed to give to anyone?
Will they miss the smile you shared,
Or the way you truly cared?
Or remember you as one who schemed,
Who played the game, and never dreamed?
For in the grave, where all are laid,
No riches keep the darkness stayed.
We come with nothing, leave the same,
Only echoes of our name.
So choose your path, your legacy,
With eyes wide open, heart set free.
Will you be loved, or leave behind,
A trail of broken hearts, confined?
The choice is yours, in how you live,
To take, to cheat, or to give.
For when your time on Earth is done,
Your deeds will shine, or block the sun.
Remember this, when life seems grand,
The wealth you crave slips from your hand.
But love and kindness, they remain,
The only treasures free from pain.
So treat your family, friends with care,
And let your actions show you’re there.
For in the end, it’s not the gold,
But the warmth of love that’s truly bold.
